Abstract

588,582. Locking cycle wheels. BUTT, H. A. G., and WRIGHT, H. CLAYTON-. April 27, 1944, No. 3662/45. Divided out of 588,557. [Class 79 (iii)] Means for preventing the theft'of cycles comprises a stirrup or U-shaped member which is pivoted to the cycle frame and can be divided and passed round a wheel rim, the divided parts then being locked together by a padlock or like locking device. A pair of levers 3 forming a stirrup are pivoted to the bracket 1 secured by a set screw 5. The levers have their ends turned inwardly so that they can be sprung round the wheel rim A and secured by a padlock 6, as shown in dotted lines. In the locked position the levers 3 cover the set screw 5. The levers 3 are left in their inoperative position as shown in full lines by padlocking them to the bracket 10.
