[Classes 79 (iii) and 136 (i)] Means for preventing theft of a cycle and of the pump comprises a member movably mounted on the cycle frame which may be moved to lock a wheel against rotation and at the same time moves one of the pump supports towards the other so as to prevent the pump being removed. A pair of elbow-shaped levers 3, Fig. 1, are pivoted on a bracket 1 secured by a set screw 5; the longer arms have their ends turned in and perforated to receive a padlock 6, which may be used to lock the levers in their inoperative position as shown in full lines, or after lowering the lever and springing the arms round the wheel rim A, to lock the wheel, as shown in dotted lines. In the latter position, the pump 11 which is engaged by a projection on the member 7 pivoted to the ends of the shorter arms of the levers 3, is raised against the upper pump support so as to prevent removal of the pump; in the locked position, the levers 3 cover the set-screws. In the modification shown in Fig. 5 in which the pump 12 is carried at the rear of the frame member 2, the pair of levers 21 which embrace the wheel are pivoted to a pair of short levers 15 which are pivoted to the fixing bracket 16. In the locked position shown in full lines, the pump 12 is held down against its lower support so that it cannot be removed, whereas when the levers 21,15 are locked to the bracket 22 in their inoperative position, member 13 is raised and so permits removal of the pump in the normal way. In another modification, the elbow-shaped levers 3 shown in Fig. 1 are replaced by a pair of straight levers, and in a further modification, the pump-supporting member 7 shown in Fig. 1 is carried by a U-shaped member whose two legs are pivoted on the levers 3.
