[Class 44] A hasp member for locks on suit cases and the like has an upper part 30 with a flange 38, in the bottom part 39, of which is a slot through which passes an extension 42 on a lower hasp-carrying part 32 having a pressed strengthening portion 34. A spring 36 tending to tilt the lower part 32 to release position passes under the extension 42 and bears against the inside of the upper part 30 ; it is held by having a lug 37 on the extension 42 bent over it.
