Abstract
An alloy of manganese and bismuth is made by melting together the metal in equal molecular proportions, annealing them to obtain large crystals, comminuting and selecting those particles of which the material corresponds closely to the formula Mn-Bi by a known method, such as one depending on the differences in densities or magnetic properties of the particles. The selected particles are made into a permanent magnet.
