[Classes 80(ii) and 80(iii)] [Also in Group I] In a hand-operated device for the remote control of the driving mechanism of appliances on tractor - drawn agricultural machines or the gear engagement of such appliances, a sliding rod 16 moves parallel to the drawbar 12 of the agricultural machine through guides 14 and 15 when pulled by a rope fastened to a pivoted link 31 at one end of the rod 16 to engage and disengage a clutch on the machine. A second link 29 is pivoted at the opposite end of the rod and to a lever 30 on the drawbar 12. The rod 16 carries a rotary stop 22 so shaped that the opposite corners 23 form teeth. The guide 14 is provided with forward and rearward abutment surfaces 18, 17 having shoulders 20 and 9 repectively parallel to the rod 16. A pull on the rope brings the rod 16 forward until one corner 23 of the stop 22 comes in contact with an inclined part 19 of the abutment 18. The stop turns against the shoulder 20 and on release of the rope the second tooth of the stop engages with the transverse rearward abutment 17 and the clutch is held in the disengaged position by abutment against the shoulder 9. A second pull on the rope causes further rotation of the stop 22 and on release the rod makes the complete return movement and the clutch becomes re-engaged.
