594,604. Refrigerating. AKTIEBOLOGET ELEKTROLUX. May 14, 1945, No. 12043. Convention date, June 10, 1944. [Class 29] Absorption systems.-The boiler of a continuous cycle inert gas system comprises a vapour lift pipe having the lower heat absorbing portion 14 in contact with the flue 10 sustantially larger in cross sectional area than the upper part 16. Weak liquor from the lower end of the boiler tube 11 is fed to the portion 14 by a pipe 15 and is raised through pump tube 16 and delivered into a stand pipe 13 in which the liquid flows downwardly and through the outer tube of the liquid heat exchanger 17 to the absorber 21 through pipe 18. The rich liquor is conducted to the boiler tube 11 through the inner tube of the liquid heat exchanger and pipe 19. The pump chamber 14 may be formed as one leg of the boiler pipe 11 which at the lower end is bent into a U-shape. The modification shown in Fig. 4 employs one end of the outer coil 30 of the liquid heat exchanger as the pump chamber 31, the rich liquor being supplied thereto through the outer tube 30 and raised through the pipe 29 to the upper part of the jacket 25 of the boiler while the weak liquor is conducted away from the lower end of the boiler jacket 25 by the inner tube 19 of the heat exchanger.
