Abstract
895,782. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX Ltd. Sept. 24, 1958 [Oct. 29, 1958], No. 30487/58. Class 29. In a continuous cycle absorption system readily adaptable for flame or electric operation, a heat conductive connection in the generator is between pump pipe 14 and a sleeve 17 in the flare, the sleeve either receiving an electric heating cartridge or being traversed by hot gases and constituting the sole heat-transferring member between the heat source and the solution. As shown the flue consists of upper and lower lengths 27, 25 joined at 28, enclosing sleeve 17, and formed with a slot 26 through which extends the weld 16 between pipe 14 and the sleeve. A weld between the boiler and the sleeve may extend through a second slot (not shown). In a modified form, the sleeve forms part of the flue and is connected at its upper and lower ends to flue pipes of larger cross-section.
