[Class 29] In an absorption refrigerating system of the continuous cycle inert gas type, the generator comprises a flue tube divided into three parts 10, 11 and 12 which are thermally spaced from each other by spaces 23, 26. The part 10 acts as a conduit for combustion gas escape and the parts 11, 12 act as heat transfer members, having welded to them a boiler conduit 13 and pump conduit 19. Strong liquid flows from the absorber vessel 25, through the pipe 17 of the liquid heat exchanger into the top of the vessel 18 which is welded to the flue member 12. The strong liquid is pumped up conduit 19 welded to the flue member 11 and is discharged into the top of the boiler conduit 13 also welded to the flue member 11 and from which weak liquid drains through a pipe 21. The vessel 18 acts as a trap for particles carried by the liquid and also as a pumping chamber. The welds joining the conduits 13 and 19 to the flue member 11 terminate a little above the base of the flue member 11. An electric heating cartridge may be inserted in the flue member 11 or a burner in the flue member 12. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the pumping device is attached to only flue member 11 and an extension of the boiler conduit 13 is welded to the flue member 12.
