593,592. Machinery guards. SWIFT, Ltd., B. & P., and LATHAM, H. F. May 31, 1945, No. 13718. [Class 80(iv)] The guard 1 for the rotary knife 8 of a cutting machine, such as a food slicing machine, is secured to the machine 2 by a locking screw 4 which through a spring 7 and plunger 5 operates a switch 6 in the driving motor circuit. On removal of the screw to remove the guard the circuit is interrupted and the motor cannot be started.
