593,307. Davits. DALRYMPLE, J. L., and LEWIS, C. E. T. June 11, 1945, No. 14762. [Class 115] A boat davit is constructed from a pair of open channel or closed tubular members X and Y which are decreasingly spaced apart from their gunwale bracket pivot 3 to the blockhead where they are welded together at 10, with interbracing at intervals, the upper bracings carrying sheaves 16 for purchase lift 12, and the lower bracings carrying the fenders 21, and pivots 28 for the jointed stay rods 23 which co-operate to interlock when extended. The pivot pin 3, stay hinge pin 28 and sheave pins 17 and 14 are all carried between the frame members X and Y and are journalled in cheek plates 1 external to X and Y.
