Abstract

1,116,020. Grab buckets. NEMAG N.V. 24 May, 1967 [26 May, 1966], No. 24167/67. Heading B8H. A grab bucket comprises two portions 5, 7, with elongated side-plates 12, 10 which are hinged together at 9 and support rope-guiding pulleys 14, 15 in such a manner that when the grab is open the axes of the pulleys 14, 15 are in substantially the same horizontal plane as the pivot 9. The closing rope 13 passes over pulleys 23, 14, a guide 17, which holds it clear of the pivot 9, and the pulley 15 to an anchorage 16. Scrapers may be attached to the ends of the side arms for cleaning the inside of the grab as it opens.
