Abstract
592,805. Linear - dimension gauges. COYNE, E. Feb. 24, 1945, No. 4665. [Class 106 (ii)] A combination gauge which can be used for depths, heights, internal or external dimensions, or for gauging angles comprises a base 24 supporting two spaced rules 13, a micrometer screw B engaging recesses in the base and a spacer plate 26, a screw-threaded thimble H engaging detachably a collar slidable on the screw B but secured to a slider 1A whereby rotation of the thimble causes the slider to slide vertically on the rules, and a depth measuring leg 22 secured to the slider and extending through a hole 23 in the base. Attached to the slider 1A is a protractor plate 16 carrying an arm 20 having a pivoted finger 18 thereon ; a similar arm E is slidable on the right hand rule to co-operate with the arm 20 for gauging internal and external dimensions. The arm 20 has a pin and slot engagement with the slider so that it can be swung about the protractor, an indicator 41 showing the angular movement. An L-shaped member may be secured to the slide for gauging heights. One rule is graduated finely at 19 and the other coarsely at 17.
