22,937. Pappano, O. Oct. 4. Dividers; protractors; rulers.-A measuring- instrument of the divider type suitable for a number of uses, includes divider legs 1, 2 each formed with a longitudinal slot 10, clamping- plates 14 arranged to engage the legs and connected by a pin 18, calliper arms 3, 4 mounted on the pin 18, and a protractor 26 secured between the legs. A pointer 14<a> on one of the clamping-plates 14 registers with the protractor 26 through the slot 10 in one of the divider legs. The combined instrument is shown in operative position in Fig. 1, and arranged as an inside calliper in Fig. 2. The instrument may also be used as a surface gauge, a T-square, a square, a depth gauge, a bevelled protractor, dividers, a top gauge, and a straight-edge.
