Abstract

267,740. Menz (nÚe Trebbin), M. April 30, 1926. Beam compasses; squares; protractors. - A combination drawing-instrument comprises a graduated ruler a having two inclined slots b to receive a slidable carrier c on which is pivoted a holder d for a pencil &c. e which serves as the movable leg of a beam compass. Mounted in a guide at one end of the ruler a is a smaller ruler j having a point f forming the fixed leg. The ruler j has a slot l through which passes a pin k at the centre of a graduated semicircle m so that by sliding down the ruler j, as indicated in dotted lines, it can be used in conjunction with the semicircle as a protractor. The pencil e when not in use is turned to lie along the ruler, its point passing into a protector g which may also have a sharpening-blade. A slot is also provided in the ruler a to receive the ruler j when the latter is not in use.
