Abstract
592,759. Woven fabrics; threads. CORNER, G. H. C., LOASBY, G., LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd., and BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS, Ltd. Feb. 2, 1945, No. 2651. [Classes 120 (iii) and 142 (iv)] [Also in Group XXV] The mounting tapes of a sliding clasp fastener are woven from organic yarns or threads, at least most of the wefts and none or only a small proportion of the warps being stronger and more resistant to abrasion than cotton. The weft may consist of nylon or strong saponified cellulose acetate yarns or threads, or of threads containing nylon and cotton in the form of yarns or fibres (which may be 17/16 inches staple). Similar yarns or threads may be included in the warp to strengthen the fastener-receiving edge, or natural or artificial silk may be included at the other edge, the remaining, or all, warps being rayon or cotton. The weave may be plain, or 2 by 2 twill or herring bone.
