919,378. Pleating fabrics. FRENCH & SONS Ltd., THOMAS. Nov. 16, 1961 [Nov. 16, 1960], No. 39284/60. Class 141. [Also in Group XIV] A curtain heading tape is woven using a comparatively stiff weft thread so as to make it more rigid transversely than longitudinally. In one form, a four-inch tape is woven using a cotton warp and a mono-filament nylon weft of 0.015 inch in diameter. The tape extends to the upper edge of the curtain and prevents a soft material, such as folk weave, from drooping. In multi-ply tapes, the weft picks forming the hook receiving pockets may be of stiff thread. The use of horse-hair and mono-filament rayon as stiffeners is referred to. According to the Provisional Specification, plastic-coated or impregnated cotton, synthetic yarn or sized cotton may also be used.
