Abstract
591,104. Forging bolts &c. ETCHELLS & SON, Ltd., D., and ETCHELLS, H. F. July 17, 1944, No. 13576. [Class 83 (iv)] A machine for heading bolts &c. has the lower die or anvil member mounted to tilt during the idle stroke to facilitate removal of the work. The bed block C is mounted in trunnions c<1> and is connected by links J pivoted at j to arms h<2> on a rock-shaft having further arms h, h' engaged by a roller K carried by the press-head. The die D is held between coned clamping members d<1>, d, the latter being screwed to a tube E held in the bed block by a nut e<2> and containing an ejector e<4> operated by a lever M. A modified form of actuation is described in the Provisional Specification.
