Abstract
937,431. Swaging machines. GESELLSCHAFT FœR FERTIGUNGSTECHNIK UND MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Feb. 1, 1960 [Feb. 3, 1959], No. 3414/60. Class 83 (4). A swaging machine has workpiece feed devices 4 disposed both in front and behind the swaging hammers 2 and movable longitudinally independently of each other, each device conprising gripping jaws 7, rotating about the workpiece axis. The workpieces 11 are moved by a push-rod 10 along a roller table 9 and through a bore 8 in the front feed device 4. This is moved by an hydraulic motor 5 to feed the workpiece between the hammers 2 which are actuated through connecting-rods by eccentrics, and subsequently the workpiece is gripped by the rear feed device 4 which pulls it through the hammers. The finished workpiece 12 is finally released from the rear device. The feed devices are controlled automatically by electromagnetically actuated slide valves. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), a long workpiece is fed through the swaging hammers.
