Abstract

589,683. Strainers. RUSSELL CONSTRUCTIONS, Ltd., and HURST, J. March 26, 1945, No. 7633. [Class 46] [Also in Group II] A brushing-device for a sieve or strainer of the type in which a circular sifting or straining surface is caused to gyrate with a circular motion of small amplitude in its own plane, comprises a brush-carrying frame adapted to lie loosely on the sifting or straining surface and a set of buffer members upon the frame disposed so as to bear with slight play on points distributed around the interior of an upstanding wall. As shown in Fig. 1, three brushes 14 secured to a metal ring 13 are supported by a screen 11. Rubber rings 21 are adjustably secured by means of clips 15 and brackets 19 to the ring 13 so that there is slight play between the rings and a wall 12 when the screen 11 is given a gyratory movement. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, the brushes 26 are secured to members 25 which are provided with metal clips 27 clamping the ends of square-section rubber 28.
