The screen separator of the parent Specification is modified in that the central bearing for each multi-blade brush 2 comprises a sleeve 5 carrying the brush blades and rotatably mounted on a bearing body 4 which is detachably secured by a stud 7 and a spacer ring 6 to a leaf-spring 8 connected at one end to the separator frame. The spring action of the leaf spring can be modified by securing a member 14 to it.
