Abstract

589,162. Reciprocating pumps. MULHERN, J. A. March 16, 1945, Nos. 6622 and 33087. [Class 102 (i)] A hand-actuated reciprocating pump in which the suction valve 10 and the delivery valve 13 have seats in a lantern ring 7 secured to the pump body. The suction valve is guided by the stem 11 sliding in a recess 12 in the delivery valve and the delivery valve is guided by a stem 15 sliding in a recess 16 in the cap 17. A single port 3 connects the pump barrel to the chamber between'the valves. A secondary delivery valve 28 loaded by a light spring 29, is fitted in the delivery pipe 6 adjacent the outlet of the delivery valve 13. An air release cock and an air vessel may be fitted to the cap 17 or the air release cock 33 may be fitted where shown in the drawing.
