[Class 120 (i)] In a sliver roll forming delivery machine incorporating apparatus wherein the roll is automatically ejected after completion and rolls down an inclined track to a receiving station, guide members are provided comprising upstanding arms of a lever, spaced apart slightly more than the width of the track, the arms being caused to travel with the roll. The arms 17 bridged by a plate 20, are loaded by springs 19 and straddle the inclined path 13. A lever 21 may be provided, having a catch engaging a projection 22 on lever 17 to hold the latter momentarily in the position shown in broken lines while the roll A settles in the receiving station, depression of the tail 21' of lever 21 finally releasing the arms 17. The end 25<1> of an arm 25 mounted on the same horizontal axis 26 as the arms 12 carrying the half-arbours 11, gives the roll A added impetus as the arms are swung apart to release the roll, and then fall to the starting position. Guide bars 27 project from the end of arms 12. A tripping device 24 causes mechanism to move the roll endwise after its release. Instead of using the weight of the roll A on the plate 20 to move the arms 17 the latter may be moved mechanically, e.g., by an arrangement of cams and levers operated by the rollforming machine.
