[Classes 57 and 110 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIX] The gas turbine plant of an aircraft drives one, or, a pair of air-screws and provides a propulsive jet. The turbine comprises two rotors, one of which drives the air compressor and the other the air-screws, and the power taken by the air-screws is governed, by varying the pitch of the blades, to maintain a constant ratio between the speeds of the two rotors. To this end, the turbine rotors drive opposite members of a bevel gear differential and the cage, carrying the planet wheels which rotates when the driven wheels do not rotate equally in opposite directions, is geared to an oil pump 88, Fig. 3. This pump transfers oil from one end to the other of a cylinder containing a valve 83 and consequent movement of this valve admits oil from a pump 77 to one side or other of a piston 74 and empowers the latter to vary the pitch of the air-screw blade 73.
