Abstract
584,508. Gas burner valves. CRISPIN, C. H. June 13, 1944, No. 11321. [Class 135] The supply of gas to a burner is controlled by the weight of the utensil to open a main nozzle when it is placed in position and to allow a pilot nozzle only to supply gas when it is removed. The utensil acts upon a member 24, projecting slightly above the grid 23 of the stove, against a bow spring 43 to actuate, through a linkage 41, 27 a rod 31 to which is connected a slide 34 engaging a main nozzle 17. The nozzle 17 in the open position shown in Fig. 6 allows a full flow of gas from an inner nozzle 16 connected to the supply pipe 12 through the main nozzle orifice 21 into the mixing pipe 13 of the burner 14. In the position shown in Fig.4, the sleeve is moved so that the end 19 of the inner nozzle 16 closes the orifice 21 but allows a small flow of gas to pass to the burner through an orifice 20 in-the end 19.
