Abstract

378,170. Gas burners. FOOT, R. W. and NICOL, E. W. L., 9, Grosvenor Gardens, London. July 10, 1931, No. 19946. [Class 75 (i).] A gas burner for lighting coke &c. fires and for use with incinerators comprises a tube 1 provided with a gas-cock 2 and a screwed coupling 3 for connecting to a gas supply and having a bend 4 with the upwardly-directed extremity 5 flattened to form a narrow outlet slit 6. The end 5 may be flared at the sides to increase the length of the slit, the edges of which may be curved, upwardly. The cock 2 may be provided with a stop to prevent it being completely closed, thereby providing a pilot flame. The burner is supported by a bracket or plate 7 and the bend 4, or the latter may be adjustably supported on a portable stand. The plate 7 may be provided with a hole or hook for suspension when not in use.
