Abstract

584,134. Ventilators. KENNETT, V. A. May 15, 1944, No. 9308. [Class 137] A ventilator grille comprises a plate 11 as of steel having integral louvres 12 formed by transverse cuts preferably each affording an inner and outer edge 15, 16, of adjacent louvres and by diverging end cuts 13, 14, which leave supporting material joining the louvre to the plate margins, the material and dimensions of the plate rendering the louvres sufficiently flexible to permit of bending by hand. The louvres may be spaced as shown so that the hingeing edge of one louvre is coincident with the free edge of the next, or the uncut end portions about which the bending takes place may be dispiaced slightly from a cut separating two adjacent louvres. A slotted hand tool may be used to grip and adjust the setting of a louvre. The louvres on one half of a grille may divert air away from the other half giving a lateral distribution.
