Abstract

584,110. Adjustable table and clothes airer. DALLEY, A. C. J. April 26, 1945, No. 10557. [Classes 52 (iii) and 52 (v)] A combined vertically-adjustable table and clothes-airer, Fig. 1, comprises a tubular frame with upper and lower sections 1 and 2, the latter being U-shaped in plan, depending legs 3 of the upper section telescope into upstanding legs 4 of the lower section, the legs being locked together, with the table at any desired height, by screwing nuts 13a into treaded sleeves 23 on legs 4, Fig. 2, to clamp the slit ends of legs on to legs 3. Arms 10 for use in airing .clothes are frictionally held on a sleeve 12 by spring washers 14 and can be turned about the sleeve as shown. The arms 10 have one or both edges serrated. One edge of the table-top is detachable from the upper section to allow the table to be tilted, a pivoted stay 18 being used to retain the table in tilted position. Removable cross-members 22 stiffen the table legs. The base carries receptacles 20, 21 for clothes. The sections 2, 3 may telescope laterally for transport. In a modification each section has a single leg only, the upper section having a U-shaped carrier for the table-top and the base of the lower section carrying a platform or receptacles.
