Abstract

665.742. Collapsable luggage carriers. SHARP, V. F. Nov. 17, 1949 [Nov. 19, 1948], No. 30189/48. Class 108(i) A collapsable luggage carrier comprises two, three or four legs carrying wheels and arranged in crossed relation to enable the carrier to be adjusted for the size of the luggage and the height at which it is disposed. In the embodiment shown the legs 2. 3 are pivoted together by a pivot pin passthrough slots 6. 7, a wing-nut 8 being provided to clamp the legs in their adjusted position. The upper ends of the legs 2, 3 are pivoted to an extensible frame having projections 34, 35 to engage the luggage, the spacing of these projections being adjustable after loosening the wing-nut 32. All the legs may be provided with caster wheels and the upper ends of the legs may be adjustably pivoted in slots in a fixed length frame engaging the underside of the luggage. The legs may also be collapsed so that the legs 2, 3 are substantially in the same plane.
