Abstract
679,485. Golf bag wheeled carriers. HUDSON, R. C. Oct. 2, 1950 [Oct. 5, 1949; Oct. 28, 1949], Nos. 25725/49 and 27746/49. Class 108(i) A collapsable golf bag or the like carrier has a main frame 1, Figs. 2. 4, comprising a straight tube 2, a base plate 3 which may swivel around the tube on its hub 3a when it is desired to stow the carrier, a bag holding spring clip 4, adjustable track wheels 1 carried by link rods 19, 20, 36 and 37, hinged to a fixed sleeve 17, and a handle 32 which when depressed towards the tube 2 from the Fig 2 position moves the link rods and wheels together by means of a rod 31, sliding sleeve 18, and struts 30. The link rods 36, 37, maintain the axes of the wheels horizontal at all wheel track widths. the golf bag 7 is held, at the bottom by a strap 15 and a clamp 12 secured to a bent steel bar 13 adjustable through a socket 14, and at the top by clips 8 on the device 4 which is attached to a short tube adjustable in the tube 2. In the collapsed position of the carrier, Fig. 1 (not shown). the link rods and handle lie close and parallel to the tube 2 so that the carrier may be wheeled along in this position by an additional handle which may be provided. The handle 32 has a rotatable grip 33 and may be adjusted in any position by means of a spring clamp to vary the wheel track. The base plate 3 has a pin and slot connection with the foot 3d so that it may be rotated 180 degrees from a stowed position between the wheels to a bag supporting position.
