Description
- Patented Sept. 29., 1925.
UNITED sTATEs .PATENT -oFFTc-E. immun n. sTRIrE, or' wauxmm, ILLINOIS'. l
AApplication: led Hatch 12, 19225. Serial No. 14,863,
T all 'who/m. t ma/y concern:
Be it known that I, REUBEN .I-I. STRIPE, a
citizen of the United States of merica, ref' siding at Waukegan, inthe county of Lake" 6` and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Golf- Bag Carriers, of which the following is a specification.'
This invention relates to means for sup- 10 porting and transporting golf bags and their contents from place to' place during the progress of the game, in an easy and convenient manner. And the present improvement has for its objectz-- To provide a structural formation andcombination of parts in a wheeled carrier adapted to hold and support a golf bag in a readily portable and accessible manner, all 'as will hereinafter more fully appear. In the accompanying drawing:
Fig. 1 is side elevation, illustrating the general arrangement of parts in' the invention.
Fig. 2 is a detail longitudinal section ,ofv
The present ap liance comprises aibase 1 of a cupv shape a apted to receive the rigid bottom piece of a golf ba and b means of a margmal rim on said ase ho d the bag from lateral displacement in actual use.
On the yunder face of the base 1 is tixedly 35 arranged a hanger bracket carrying an axle 3 at'the respective ends of which are mountdl ground wheels 4, affording ready portai ity.
At one end the base 1 is formed with a 40 `socket portion 5 for the fixed attachment of y la pole' or handle 6, of the required len h and with its upper or free end provi ed with a hand grip 7 bywhich the appliance is ddirawn over the field by the p ayer or 45 ca y.
Intermediate the length of the pole or handle 6 is secured a curved spring' clip 8 adapted to encircle and hold an upper portion ofthe golf bag in proper posltion on the carrier, and iny like manner a hinged prop rail 9 is attached t0 the pole 6, for supporting the carrierand golf bag in an accessible inclined osition as shown.
Having thus fu y described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A golf bag carrier, comprising a base having a raised marginal rim and a socket at one point of said rim, a pole or handle xed in said socket, a bag engagin clip arranged intermediate the length o said pole, and a pair of ground wheels the carrying axle o which is mounted on the base.
