Abstract
583,062. Speed reduction gearing for wheels. MORRISON, A. E., and MORRISON, A. C. Feb. 1, 1944, No. 5137/45. Divided out of 588,821, [Group XXXII]. [Class 80 (i)] In a vehicle wheel hub assembly, a driving shaft 1, driven directly by a motor, is in alignment with the wheel axle 2 and has an eccentric 14 on which is mounted by a bearing 13 a gear 10 having internal and external gear teeth 12, 11. Gear teeth 11 mesh with a reaction gear 15 fixed or yieldingly secured to a housing 9, and the teeth 12 mesh with a gear 17 secured to the wheel axle 2. The latter is carried by bearings 3, 4, in a hub 5 and the wheel is fixed by studs 7 to a plate 6 on the axle 2.
