[Class 6 (i)] An attachment for a tractor or other agricultural vehicle to enable seeds or fertilizer to be scattered broadcast while the vehicle is performing other operations comprises an apertured drum to contain fertilizer or seed, the drum being secured to a rotating part of the vehicle, preferably to one of the wheels. In the form shown the attachment comprises a drum 55 provided with peripheral apertures 57. Concentric with the drum is a sleeve 56 provided with corresponding apertures 58, the sleeve being axially movable relatively to the drum to alter the extent of registration between the corresponding apertures in the sleeve and drum. This axial motion is effected by the rotation of a capstan nut 75 which causes a bridge plate 74 carrying the sleeve to travel along the threaded portion 73 of an axial shaft 71, a lock nut 77 being provided to retain the sleeve in any desired position. Dowel pins 78 prevent rotation of the sleeve relatively to the drum. One end plate 59 is provided with clamps 61 by which the drum may be secured to the spokes 64 of a tractor wheel. The other end plate 60 is provided with a filling opening closable by a hinged cover, the two end plates being tied together by tie-rods 69. In a modification the effective area of the apertures may be varied by angular relative adjustment of the drum and sleeve. In a further modification the drum is polygonal, each face of the polygon being provided with a slide which wholly or partly masks a row of discharge apertures. According to the Provisional Specification the polygonal drum may be mounted on wheels and towed by a tractor.
