Abstract
581,630. Collar supports. WEINER, B. Sept. 22, 1944, No. 18158. [Class 141] A support for the wings of soft collars of the type having two telescopic limbs connected by a resilient wire member adapted to fit behind the tie, has each of the limbs formed from two leg parts connected by a helical spring enclosed within a sheath. As shown, the central member 1 is shaped to form loops 2 each leading into an upper leg part 3 which is enlarged at 5 and secured in axial alignment with a light helical spring 4. Each lower leg part 6 is similarly secured to the spring 4 and has a pointed end provided with a loop 8 to limit the penetration into the fabric of the collar. The spring 4 is free to slide in a rigid sheath 7 fixed to the upper leg part 3 and from which the lower leg part 6 projects. The central part 1 may, if desired, be looped to engage the collar stud. In a modification, the spring may be formed integrally with the leg parts. In another modification, the sheath may be fixed to the lower leg part instead of the upper or it may be made integrally with one of these parts by coiling the latter.
