Abstract
417,157. Fastening wearing-apparel. SCHRODER, H., 8, Luisen Ufer, Berlin. Oct. 24, 1933, No. 29456. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1932. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 25, 1934.] [Class 141.] An adjustable fastening for wearing-apparel such as veils and bathing caps, consists of one or more elastic cords 1, 2 which, when stretched, pass freely through a small rigid fastener body 3, but, when relaxed, are gripped as shown and maintained in adjusted position. The bore of the fastener body 3 is of non-uniform but symmetrical longitudinal section, and may be of hour-glass shape, Fig. 3, or of barrel shape, Fig. 4. In Fig. 7 a hook 15 engages with an adjustable loop, the cord 13 being gripped by the fastener body 14 and by the narrow end 17 of the hook. To allow of insertion of the loop into the hook, the end 16 of the hook is bifurcated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an adjustable fastening in which the small fastener bodies are formed by knots in the elastic cords. The fastener bodies may be of elastic and the cords of inelastic material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
