Abstract
428,260. Press-button fasteners. ZELLWEGER, R., and MEZZADRI, E., 161, Zentralstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Aug. 4, 1934, No. 22748. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 5, 1935.] [Class 44] [See also Group VII] A curved pointed needle 6, is attached to the centre of a press-button, button, club-badge, &c. 11, and abuts resiliently with it along most of its length, so that when the point 7, which stands away from the button, is passed through the cloth and the button twisted to force the needle through the hole, the cloth is clamped between needle and button. The needle may be of involute form, Fig. 7, or as in Figs. 5 and 6, with a kink 5 near its point of attachment to the button. This attachment may be by means of a square 4<1>, and the needle may be circular or elliptical in cross-section. The button may be forced through the material by spring pincers 9, having opposing teeth, which engage punched out openings 8.
