Figure 2 is a vertical sectional, viewthrough the fastener taken on a line 2-2 of Figure 1. Figure 3 is avertical sectional view taken on a line 3-3 of Figure2 and View taken when the garment is cleaned.
Itis believed the details of construction, op`
eration and manner of use of the device will be readily understood from the foregoing Without further detailed explanation.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed as new is:
1. A button fastener forbuttons of a type having openings therein, said fastener comprising a flexible member inserted in said openings and through the materialto which the button is attached, a plate positioned behind the material and removable clips carried by the plate for securing the ends of the flexible member to one platef 2. A button fastener for buttons of a type having openings therein, said fastener comprisnumeral 5 designates a button of conventional which are inserted-the ends ofv a Wiregmember 'I which passes through the'fgarment material 8.
form having the openings B therein and through` l A semi-flexible plate 9, of Celluloid or other Y suitable material is positioned at the back `of the garmentmaterial 8, the ends of the vvire` I3 of the clip I2 is inserted through an openingr I4 in the plate and bent over the Wire, Whilethe other end `I5 of the clip I2 is bent around ing a flexible member inserted in said openings and through the material to which the button is attached, a plate positioned behind the material, anda bendable metal clip having one end inserted through the plate and bent over the ends of said flexible member to secure the latter to one face of the plate in parallel relation to the plate.
3. A button fastener for buttons of a type having 4openings therein, said fastener comprising a flexible member inserted in said openings and through the material to which the button is attached, a plate positioned behind the material, the ends of saidV ilexible member extending in opposite directions against said Vplate in parl allel relation thereto, staples secured to the plate, said ends o-f the flexible member being bent over theV return bends of said flexible member to secure the latter to the plate.
