Abstract
605,074. Strap fastenings. JAN, L. Dec. 13, 1945, No. 33750. Convention date, May 3. [Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A device, which fastens together the ends of a band of supple material perforated by a row of holes 14, and which comprises a flat ring 2 fixed to one end 10 of the band, the other end 13 of which passes through the ring 2 and is secured by the engagement with one of the holes in the band of a tongue 3, extending centrally from one edge of a flat face of the ring, is characterized in that the fastening part of the tongue 3 comprises a round-headed button 7 with a collar 8 which traverses a hole 12 near the end 10 of the band, and in that another tongue 4 extends from the opposite edge of the same flat face of the ring 2 and engages at least one slit 11 in the same end 10 of the band, thus securing the ring in position. The ring and tongues may be made of a flattened tube, or be cut, bent and welded from sheet metal. In a modification, the separate button 7 is dispensed with, the end of the tongue 3 being bent up and shaped into a round head.
