Abstract

3561. Chisholm, G. Feb. 13. Collars. - A celluloid collar is provided with flexible adjustable tabs for fastening the front opening-to the shirt button. The usual collar band e has a slot f, Fig. 1, cut near each front edge, as shown, preferably vertical. A tab b, b<1> of leather, stiff cloth, or other suitable material, having a hole d for engagement with the shirt button, passes through this slot to the inside of the collar band. Two or more holes are cut in the tab to engage a stud &c. on the collar band. Adjustment is made by engaging the stud with a different hole in the tab. The tabs may be coloured to match the collar. The holes may be made in the collar band; or the stud may be replaced by a metal book. In a modification, small holes j<0>, j<1>, j<2>, Fig. 6, are made in the collar band e, and a cord or lace b<3> forming a loop to engage the shirt stud passes through them, being. fastened by a hook on the inner end. The back of the collar may carry a tab, made as described in Specification No. 3562, A.D. 1907.
