Abstract
585,370. Buttons. PICKARD, W. Aug. 9, 1944, No. 15125. [Class 43] A securing loop 1 of resilient material is attached to the eye 6 of a button head 7 so that it may be sprung into alternative positions, in one of which, shown in Fig. 1, it retains the head 7 close to the material, and in the other and erect position at right angles to the button head, with the end 3 of the loop 1 in the eye 6, it is held, to facilitate penetration of the material, by a pointed end 2 of the loop. In this latter position, the larger end 3 of the loop 1 is supported in a recess 8 in the underside of the button head 7. In a modification, the eye of the button may be resiliently attached to the button head. A needle 18, Fig. 10, may be slipped over the end 2 of the loop 1 to facilitate penetration of the material to which the button is to be detachably connected. Specification 553,927 is referred to.
