Abstract

578,325. Rope grips.' WILLIAMS, S. E. June 8, 1944, No. 10988. [Class 78 (ii)] In rope grips for securing corves to a moving rope of the kind comprising two jaw-carrying side cheeks 1, Fig. 2, which are freely connected by a bolt 2 and have an operating lever 9, Fig. 1, mounted between them on a pivot 10, each cheek has a slot 16 into which takes the nose 19 of a pivoted latch 17 on the lever to lock the latter in the operative position. The head 13 of the lever, which bears against the projecting inner faces 12 of the cheeks, is formed with a pair of shoulders 20 which pass over the stops 14 but are obstructed by the stops 15.
