Abstract

1,204,042. Bayonet fastenings. ALBISWERK ZURICH A.G. 9 May, 1968 [13 July, 1967], No. 21931/68. Heading E2B. A bayonet fastener comprises a member with a slot engageable by a roller on each end of a pin projecting laterally from a second spring urged member. A member 7 securable in a rack frame 5 has a slot 9 in which engage rollers on the end of a pin transverse to an extension 6 of a handle spindle 16 passing through a cover plate 3 to secure the cover plate to the rack frame. To release the cover plate, the handle 1 is rotated and then pulled to detach the pins from the slot and to cause the extension and pin to pass through an opening in the frame and rest on the cover plate. The handle is pulled again to move the cover plate and make available an accessory therein. A resilient disc 2 between the handle I and coverplate 3 urges the handle outwardly and the rollers to engage in an arcuate portion at each end of the slot. Each roller has a frusto conical bore which fits rotatably on a tapering end of the pin.
