Abstract

1,185,850. Stud and socket fastenings. COUBRO & SCRUTTON Ltd. 31 Oct., 1968 [1 Nov., 1967], No. 49636/67. Heading E2B. A coupling device comprises a fixture 1 for mounting on a goods container and a stud 4 for releasable engagement with the fixture, the latter having an apertured abutment 2 for the stud so that laterally projecting parts 7 of the stud may be engaged behind the abutment 2 by rotation of the stud after the latter has passed through the aperture, and a locking member 8 longitudinally slidable on the stud between a a withdrawn position in which it is clear of the abutment and a locking position in which it is received into and engages with the abutment to key the stud against rotation with respect to the abutment. As shown, the clocking member 8 is a rectangular collar, and plates 8b of which provide flanges (8c) Fig. 3 (not shown) which in the locking position of the stud embrace the projections 7 on the stud 4. The stud is provided with a lifting eye 6.
