Abstract

1328849 Hooks ACCESS EQUIPMENT Ltd 6 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 61902/70 Heading E2A Connecting means for detachably connecting two components comprises a hook having a shank portion 10 for attachment to one component 13' and a hook portion 11 to fit around the other component to connect the components together, catch means comprising a linearly projectable and retractable catch member 20 having a surface 26 to engage the component 13 fitted in the hook portion along a line extending parallel to the axis of the opening of the hook portion, and a trigger member 22 mounted in the hook and moveable between a first position in which part of the trigger member projects opposite the entrance to the opening of the hook portion and into the space for receiving the member 13, and a second position in which the trigger member does not project into the said space, the trigger member being arranged in such a manner that movement of the trigger member from its projected to its retracted position tends to urge the catch member to its projected position. As shown, the catch member 22 is moved to its projected position by a spring 33 and has a part-cylindrical surface 26 corresponding to radius of the component 13, a recess 38 in the member receiving the pivoted trigger member 22; orientation of the member 20 may be effected the trigger member or by a pin positioned across the bore 19 and engaging in a transverse slot of the member.
