A container attachment means comprises a fastening member 14 adapted to be removably located selectively within one of a series of apertures 19 in a container-supporting member, said fastening member including a pin 16 adapted to pass through said aperture, an elongated block 15 attached to one end of said pin and having such dimensions that it cannot pass through said aperture and a lever arm 17 pivotally attached to near the other end of said pin and movable between a first position in which it is aligned with said pin such that said fastening member can be removed from said aperture, and a second position in which it is mis-aligned with said pin thus preventing removal of said fastening member, said lever arm being movable in its misaligned position thus to rotate said pin and said block whereby the latter is arranged to fasten and unfasten a container to be supported. The supporting member described has a number of outriggers 10 each of which is provided with one of the apertures 19 for receiving the stud. Each outrigger has a platform 12 on which the head of the stud rests when not engaged with a container fitting 11 and the platform is provided with register means 13 consisting of two 'blocks of metal rigidly attached to the platform, the blocks and the space between defining an area slightly smaller but of the same shape as the locating aperture of the container corner fitting. The space between the two blocks is slightly greater than the narrow dimension of the block 15 so that in one position the block can be positioned in the space. In use the block 15 is aligned with the two blocks and passed into the elongated aperture in the corner fitting, the two blocks also entering the aperture; the head is then rotated through 90‹ by the lever arm 17 to fasten the container to the outrigger. The arm 17 when the head has been rotated to the fastening position can be positioned between two retaining plates 20 which depend from the outrigger 10 the arm in this position abutting a retaining block 21 on the outrigger and an aperture in the arm being aligned with similar apertures in the retaining plates 20 and a spring loaded securing bolt 22 being passed through the apertures in the arm and retaining plates. In a modification instead of the securing bolt 22 and the outrigger is provided with a spring loaded pivoted securing catch to engage the lever arm to retain it in the position in which the stud is in the fastening position and the lever arm has an abutment which when the arm is in this position abuts the platform provided on the outrigger in such a way that the arm is held substantially horizontally. The platform is provided with a keyway parallel to the axis of the stud in a position midway between the fastening and releasing positions of the stud and it is only in this position that the lever arm can be moved so that its axis is aligned with the axis of the stud for withdrawal of the stud and lever arm from the platform. On the shank of the stud is a register means which consists of a substantially elliptical block having a raised portion whose shape corresponds to that of the head of the stud and Whose other portion corresponds to that of a recess in the platform the platform thus locates the register means in a position in which the raised portion can enter the aperture in the container corner fitting. A modification is also described in which the lever arm is replaced by a wedge shaped member which is slidably and pivotally attached to the shank of the stud and which in one position wedges against the platform and in the other position has its axis aligned with the axis of the stud so that the stud and wedge shaped member can be withdrawn from the platform.
