Abstract
577,015. Water gas generation. STEINSCHLAEGER, M. Sept. 15, 1941, No. 11810. [Class 55 (i)] In the production of water gas and like gases, a heat regenerator is heated by gas from a gas producer plant or other source, and a mixture of water gas with or without coke oven gas or other gas rich in methane and steam and/or carbon dioxide is passed through the regenerator and then to a water gas generator. The temperature for the water gas reaction is obtained partly from the regenerator and partly by subjecting the generator to blowing from time to time. By this process carburetted water gas, or water gas rich in carbon-monoxide, hydrogen or nitrogen may be obtained.
