Abstract

576,209. Winding yarns. SCRAGG, Ltd., S. & E., and SCRAGG, S. April 28, 1944, No. 7952. [Class 120 (ii)] In a yarn winding machine for producing tapered yarn packages, the guides A are carried by arms mounted on a bar B reciprocated by an oscillating member G connected to the bar through links J, L which are pivoted also to a lever K, K<2> pivoted intermediate of its ends. The arms K, K<2> are preferably out-of-line and the cross connecting piece K<3> may be adjustably carried by the pivot K<1>. The links J, L, which are adjustably carried by the arms K, K <2>, L<1> and G, are themselves adjustable in length and the arrangement is such that the traverse guides are accelerated in one direction of motion and decelerated in the reverse direction.
