Abstract
576,033. Hydraulic transmission of power. ARNOLD, H. I., and EXACTOR CONTROL CO., Ltd. Nov. 22, 1943, No. 19518. [Class 69 (ii)] In a remote control system comprising a. transmitter A and receiver B, a valve device C, inserted in the conduit 10 between them, comprises a non-return valve 22 and a relief valve 28 mounted on a diaphragm 30 sensitive to pressure changes in the conduit between the transmitter and the device. The spring 33 acting on the diaphragm and transmitter spring 8 are such that changes in pressure between the device and transmitter due to leakage or temperature variations affect only the transmitter. While pressure can be transmitted to the receiver through the non-return valve, reverse loads due to pressure on the receiver merely close the valves ; but return of the transmitter to original position causes a drop in pressure on the conduit 10 which acts on the diaphragm and causes the relief valve to open. The relief valve may be manually actuated. In a modification one valve serves both as non-return and relief valve. The device is preferably located near the receiver.
