Abstract
621,396. Remote control hydraulic systems. HOBSON, Ltd., H. M., (formerly HOBSON (AIRCRAFT & MOTOR) COMPONENTS, Ltd., H. M.), and WESTBURY, R. Aug. 20, 1946, No. 24790. [Classes 69 (ii) and 135] A remotely controlled, two-piston, hydraulic control system for operating aircraft parts comprises a pilot valve 10 connected to a selector valve 24 controlling a differential piston motor 23 at the remote station by small bore pipes 13, 16, 19. The pilot valve comprises a casing 11 containing a valve 33 movable by a cam 34 on a lever 35 into two positions whereby the pipe 13 connected to the main pressure pipe 14 is connected to the pipe 19 by depression of a spring-loaded ball valve 12 or the pipe 19 is connected to the pipe 16 leading to the exhaust line 17. The pipe 19 is connected to the major side of a differential piston 21 in the selector valve 24, the inner side of which is in constant communication with the pressure line 14. A coaxial piston valve 22 connected to the piston 21 alternatively conÀ nects a port 28 on the major side of a differential piston 26 in the motor 23, to the pressure line 14 or to the exhaust line 17. The inner side of the piston 26 is in constant communication with the pressure line 14. An accumulator 37 in conjunction with a ball valve 60 may be included for operating the device in an emer. gency. An alternative construction of the valve 24 is described.
