Abstract
574,924. Steam injectors. DAVIES & METCALFE, Ltd., METCALFE, R. D., and METCALFE, J. C. July 17, 1944, No. 13632. [Class 71] In a steam injector, the portion o of the delivery nozzle at and about its throat is combined in an unitary structure with the end portion n of the combining nozzle including the main overflow gap r next the delivery throat, the structure being removably secured in place between the member p providing the diverging end of the delivery nozzle and the member g, j, m constituting the first portion of the combining nozzle. As shown, a flange y on the unitary structure is secured between these two members which are screwed together and to the casing, and inner and outer steam jets f, e are provided, and an overflow valve 3 on the overflow chamber. In another form, the unitary portion is screwed into the delivery portion of the injector and the combining nozzle is formed with a pivoted flap allowing overflow at starting.
