In an air jacketed type of combustion chamber for a gas turbine or other prime mover, an annular partition is provided outside the entrance end wall b of the combustion space in the flame tube a, the two surfaces i, j of the partition being differently shaped so as to divide the air stream with a minimum loss of energy. The wall b is perforated and is provided with a duct k, swirl vanes e being disposed between the duct and the fuel nozzle c.
